Where to Consign Clothes in San Diego

Buffalo Exchange

Looking for a quick and easy way to make some extra cash off the clothes you don’t wear anymore? Buffalo Exchange in Hillcrest is a bit of a trek to get to, but with the option for store trade on the spot, it’s worth it if you simply want to swap out your old clothes for something different.

Hey sole collectors, looking for somewhere in downtown San Diego to consign your limited edition Jordan, KD, Kobe, or Foamposite sneakers? Rosewood San Diego’s got you. Unlike other San Diego consignment shops, these guys know what your shoes are worth and they’ll help you get a fair price without having to resort to Craigslist or Ebay. 

Where to Donate Clothes in San Diego

Alpha Project

Drop-Off Address: 3737 Fifth Ave, Ste 203, San Diego, CA 92103

Alpha Project is a non-profit organization that helps 4,000 people a day by providing affordable housing, residential substance abuse treatment, basic and emergency services for the homeless, and many more essential services to those in need. While they do not operate any thrift stores, you are welcome to drop off personal items at their home office. Items that are always needed include: hygiene products, towels, twin sheets, undergarments, blankets, books, clothes in good condition, coats, blankets, socks, and pillows.

Dress for Success

Drop-Off Address: Christ United Methodist Church, 3295 Meade Ave, San Diego 92116 (Donations are accepted the last Saturday of the month (except Dec.) from 10am – 2pm)    

Help local women achieve their professional goals by donating your gently-used business attire to Dress for Success San Diego. Accepted clothing includes: conservative skirt suits and pant suits, neutral blouses, new or gently-used shoes (workplace appropriate, no sandals), costume jewelry, purses and briefcases in excellent condition, new, unopened hosiery (large sizes urgently needed).

San Diego Rescue Mission

Another great way to help San Diego’s neediest populations is to donate your clothes, furniture, electronics, and baby supplies to the San Diego Rescue Mission. With thrift shops located in Point Loma, City Heights, North Park and National City, there are many options for donating in the San Diego area. Every dollar made here goes towards housing, hunger relief, mental health counseling, alumni aftercare, and education.
